I fell in love with Black Thorn after reading a sample of blood shadows. I HAD TO HAVE the book at that moment. I stayed up reading all night, had a “book hangover” the next morning but was still smiling. Hehe I devour each store in one sitting, but what surprised me most was falling in love all over again when I would need a Black Thorn fix. Their is not many books, 1 other series actually that has hooked me so deeply. I think the character building is my favorite. You can’t change a bad boy in a few days so to me, this series feels more believable. Each character has good and bad intentions which draws you in because you are not sure how they will respond. I also love the fact Mrs. Pryor is from my mother’s home country of England. And I enjoy all the blogs and reviews and how Mrs Pryor interacts with her fans. I recommend this series to anyone and everyone and although I read mostly from my Kindle app, the very few stores I hold in highest regard I keep on my bookshelf. This would be AMAZING. Thank you so much for the chance.

Ann McNeilly

danger, romance, paranormal, great writing…love it!

Amy Phelan

I have fallen in love with these books, mainly due to the fact you have these smaller tales of the two people finding love with each other whilst also seeing larger things coming together within blackthorn, with little hints to the next big thing!

Gladys Gonzales Atwell

After reading the first one, I was pulled into the world by danger intrigue and the ways of true vampires. Not the thrill and fringes of movies and tweens.

Virginie

The truth is, I have not read Blackthorn yet however, every single person I have come across who has only had good things to say about it. I just feel like I am missing out on the best kept secret ever!!!
That and the hot vamps of course!

christa still

I haven’t yet ventured into the world of Blackthorn. A friend of mine recommended the series to me a few days ago, with raving reviews. I’m working on stock piling reading material for my recovery period after surgery in a few weeks, and this would make a wonderful addition!

Sandra Stocker

Loved the title, love that they are over 300 pages, which to me is a BOOK. Was drawn initially by the great Amazon reviews and the strong story.Cannot find any thing to moan about which is awesome. Lyndsay gives you characters you want to live alongside, and I empathise with them throughout all the Blackthorn Books. Sexy strong males and feisty females, plenty of banter and I think Calebs my favourite x.This competition is a great give away, and I constantly recommend you Lindsey to all and sundry so my chances of winning lessened by at least ?%.Not bothered though as you need to be read by many. Brilliant rapport with your fans too, what’s not to like . 🙂 x

megan

wow ive been waiting for a chance at this series but never had the money for it!!! and I hate to start a really good series wo havin most of them lol. what drew me to u and ur books is the fact its vamps and other mystic beings!!! and they just sound so dern interesting. I cant wait to see what happens in each one!!! and thanks for the chance!!!

Stephanie

I fell in love with Blackthorn because the characters give it so much depth. I can not choose a favorite couple because they all play a vital role in the coming end! I was drawn into a world of romance and intrigue. I can’t wait to continue reading to find out how things progress. I am always on pins and needles to find out more about all the pawns in the game being played out in Blackthorn!!!

Sally

This series helped me get back into reading! It’s an amazing read that can take your mind off of life stresses for a little while. So thank you Lindsay for your brilliant mind:)

tamalyn roberts

Have only read the first book so far but already hooked, the mysterious world where love is eternal and fraught with danger, loving the sexyness too lol cannot wait to see what happens next ..,,,, off to read on my kindle

Biancs osborne

I love your books. So much so, that I have read them each on multiple occasions and many times again.

Sabrina

AWESOME! Read, I love the Blackthorn books. I love the romance and love story, your a wonderful writer.

Melanie Malooon

I first saw your books on Facebook and I thought, why not give it a try. I just finished Charlaine Harris, Keri Arthur and Sara Humphreys series and wanted something intriguing, romantic, mysterious and would keep me reading into the wee hours of the morning. I couldn’t put these books down. I read the first three in one week. I read every moment I could. I haven’t read the last book yet, but that’s on my “to read” book. I’m in law enforcement and stories like this just takes me away from all the troubling things I see and hear everyday. Thank you for giving the world your stories.

Camilla

WHAT ATTRACTS YOU TO BLACKTHORN?

Blackthorn attracts me with its different paranormal monsters/powers in people. I love the idea that Blackthorn happend in an univers like ours but are sligthly different.
I like that Blackthorn is a different book and is making its own story with its own problems, heroes, evil people and love.
I like the authors version of the paranormal creatures in blackthorn. I like that I know the names but doesn’t know that they can. I can try to foresee that the paranormal creatures can but it is too hard.
I really love the romance between the difference heroes and heroines in the books. I can’t read a book without a good romance between at last two people. The men I like best is the strong, but hurt, mystisk and cool men who get a strong wonan who can fight and have some special paranormal power, who is vulnerable but doesn’t know it herself.
The scenes with the hero and the heroin there they have sex or flirt are especially good because you can feel the conflict in them. The big attraction and lust on one site and the survival agenda on the other make the scenes about other then just sex.
That kind of romance and that kind of people are the ones the author of Blackthorn are playing with.

Because of all the above Blackthorn is one of my favorite series and I can’t stop reading the books again and again.

Demei

I fell in love with Blackthorne because of the unique storyline, the emotional realness of the characters, and the build up and development of the plot after each story! My favorites are still Caleb and Leila. They are so deep!

Angela

Darn Lindsay for making me a hopeless, drooling addict! It is a fun, sexy, enthralling take on the supernatural. I can safely say that her bad boys are something out of my wildest dreams. I have to *in fact* make sure I have no pressing obligations before I begin her books because I absolutely cannot stop. The Blackthorn saga is imaginative and unique and I find myself truly caring about the characters. Lindsay keeps me guessing at every turn. There is never a dull moment! And don’t even get me started on Caleb…
Lindsay has a fan and a friend for life in me!

Pauline

They were recommended by a friend but once I started I couldn’t stop so far my favourite leading man has to be Eden a bad boy for good reasons. Can’t wait to find out how all the characters come together and the ultimate fate of blackthorn. Who will win humans or third spieces.

Susan Johnson

I love to try new books so to win these would be amazing 🙂

Sarah

So many things drew me to this series.

1) What originally caught my attention was Kane. I read a sample of Blood Shadows and instantly fell in love with the ancient, cocky/arrogant, gorgeous, lethal alpha-male master vampire. The chemistry between him and Caitlin, as well as other main couples in the other books is electrifying, and I’m going to sound so bad saying this but I love the fact that all the males are so blatantly dominant; and, unlike fictional wanna-bes like Christian Grey (no offense if you’re an FSOG fan :P) who act dominant, Blackthorn guys don’t have to act; it’s part of their essence and exudes from them so much that it might as well be dripping off the pages.

2) The realism of the series. Despite this series being paranormal, the reactions characters have to the situations in which they are put in are not easy in the least. They are difficult situations, some of which require tremendous sacrifice and risk-taking *cough* for example, the conflict surrounding my favorite Blackthorn bad boy, Caleb *cough*, and the way in which the characters handle them is realistic. While we may find some of the male characters in particular to be harsh and ruthless at times, we understand that if they are to survive and maintain their hard-earned status in Blackthorn, they have to be this way; it’s not a facade that can be maintained in certain situations and then slouched off in others. This is going to sound terrible, but the fact that there is a high chance that not everyone will get a happily ever after, just draws me even further into this series because that’s the way of life in the real world. Terrible things happen to good people, and life doesn’t always go the way we want it to. I’m guessing that it is because most fans expect a happy ending that very few authors actually have the balls to take their stories in this type of direction and see it through. So, I highly respect and appreciate when I stumble across a series that accomplishes this. Yes, we don’t know yet what the final ending will be for these characters; however, with the way the books have been written so far, we know that if everyone is to end up alive and well by the series’ end, it will be because they’ve had to endure much hardship for it. Another reason that I like this aspect of the series is because it makes the plots of the novels and final outcomes unpredictable. While guessing what will happen by a series’s end is fun, I don’t want to have everything laid out in a perfect line for me. I want to be kept on the edge of my seat, and I want to have that feeling where you just can’t put the book you’re reading down because you have to know how it’s going to end.

3) The world building. What I’ve come to love about this series as well is the fact that it is so detailed when it comes to descriptions of the setting. I feel as if I could step into the pages of these books and walk to the different locations and districts of Blackthorn. I can picture them so vividly in my mind, and despite it being a dangerous place, I want to just jump into the books and become part of the story itself.

4) The urban fantasy plot. While I do love that each book has a main couple that it centers on *cough* which leads to some very steamy scenes which I also love *cough*, I love that all the books are intertwined with each other and don’t completely and utterly rely on conventional romance plots. I like that there are big conflicts (Caleb being the Tryan, Phia being the serryn, the prophecies, the Global Council’s potential supernatural army) that connect all the different characters; I also enjoy the fact that these conflicts continue to build off of each other as the series progresses. Even though we may not see certain characters, we’re still left wondering about them when we here about advancements of other plots and are trying to figure out what decisions they’ll make or what reactions they will have in future books.

Sheila Sloan

The gripping storyline and realist characters.

PAULINE HILL

you know a good book like blackthorn because you read them twice

Sarah Goodman

The great gripping plot with its dangers and romances that keep you wanting to read on.

Jessica M.

I fell in love with the Blackthorn world as soon as I started Blood Shadows. While there’s a plethora of paranormal books out there this series stands out to me with the extensive world building. I loved discovering new facts and how each is a standalone yet still woven together. The gothic, dark undertones is really what got to me as there isn’t really anything like that out that. The characters are also fresh and they start off as major alpha assholes they mellow out (sort of) while still keeping the alphaness. Also, the heroines aren’t cookie cutter and they’re very much strong on their own. Can’t wait for more!

leanne weir

I love the setting and atmosphere

Jennine C.

Blackthorn drew me in because of my love of all things from the British Isles. Oh and vampires. It popped up as recommended because I was a fan of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I have to say I was hooked half way through book 1. The characters were compelling, entertaining and drew me in immediately. I ordered book 2 and 3 off Amazon before I was even finished with Blood Shadows. The slightly different takes on both vampires and werewolves was refreshing. There was a gritty undertone to everything.
It is definitely tops in my paranormal romance reading list, and I cannot wait for Blood Dark, and to find out more about the very well developed world Lindsay has given us.

Moira Dunlop

When I told my sister is loved reading vampire/paranormal books, she recommended Lindsay’s books to me. I started the first one and was totally hooked. Loved the characters and storyline and love how they’re all linked. Love all the characters. Liked them so much that I tweeted to Lindsay how much I enjoyed them. Desperately waiting for the next one

Denise Preston

I saw them on face book and someone recommended them to read if you like vampire romance books. So I bought the first one by ebook then had to have the others..Loved therm all..Hooked.

Tracy O'Keeffe

Confessing to have never read your books and I’m quite well versed in vampire fiction! Have heard nothing but good things about your books though and look forward to reading them. Thanks for the chance x

Reyne Clark

I like the characters and their intensity, as well as, the intertwining story lines. I accidentally read them out of sequence, but they still made sense and I continue to be intrigued by where the next book will take us.

Amanda Perrie

I can’t remember how I came across this series but after reading Blood Shadows I was hooked. I think the way the society & class segregation is written amazingly well. This series is one of my all time favourites & can’t wait to see where the storyline goes next.

Amy McDonald

What attracts me to Blackthorn is the characters, they are so real from the hard choices they have to make, to the ramafactions that come as a result of those choices. The world they live in is dark and edgy, and they have to make the best of things, or try at all costs to change the world they live in, to make it better!! Blackthorn is a gripping world that grabs you and doesn’t let you go, even long after you finish a book!!! I so love series like that, it makes you feel and care about what the next book will be like!!!!

Claudia

I was attracted to Blackthorn for a two reasons.

The first was how detailed and complete this world is, without it being unlike our own world. Just like with own own world history with American segregation of African Americans or the Nazi’s treatment of Jews, we see that humans in Blackthorn resort to segregation and attempted control of what is different to them and what they fear. The Vampires and Lycans are placed in districts that to me congers up images of ghettos in Nazi Germany or even modern day America. Therefore there is a plausibility to Blackthorn that makes you feel for the characters more.

The second reason is that just like with our history, when anyone is backed into a corner, there is an inevitable part of them that will want to fight against injustice. This is evident with all the characters, for example, Caleb debating being Tryan or Jask with trying to get back at the Global Council for what happened to his pack. Once again you see plausibility in the characters actions and you forget at times that they are Vampires or Lycans or Serryns. Then when the characters start falling in love, it shows that you cannot stop living because of your situation and you will find some happiness when you think there is none.

So to sum up, I was attracted to Blackthorn because it is a pseudo history lesson with some sexy paranormal romance thrown in for good measure that makes want to read on!

Aislynn campo

Exactly, I couldn’t agree more!

Andrea Miles

I’ve only recently got into vampires as I was terrified by Dracula but these seem to be a cross between Buffy & True Blood books

Aislynn campo

I saw this book on amazon. I read probably about three- four books a week depending on the length. I fell in love after the first book because not only was it a dark romance but it has an interesting twist on occult lore. It’s like a mix of urban and paranormal fantasy.
I do also enjoy grey characters. As I said and will always say forever, Caleb is my book boyfriend for life! I have a feeling these books are only going to get better now that the stories have begun to intermix. This is by far my favorite Paranormal series I have ever read.
Did I mention the writing? Lindsay Pryor knows how to tell a story and get you emotionally invested in the outcome. It’s hard not to care about any of the characters because she does an amazing job of giving them dimensions. A lot of the paranormal series I read focus more on the action and less on the characters and often times I find them too bland, there isn’t any depth. The stories give you a feel much like watching a movie or tv show joss Whedon has done(creater of many amazing shows and the best at character development in the biz)

Aislynn campo

(Got cut off)
That’s what drew me to blackthorn. I have a lot of reasons for enjoying the books so it’s hard to pin down the exact part that made me love them so much.

sarah

Love the storylines and romances 🙂

Rosie Dunningham

What attracts me to Blackthorn is that I am totally new to them, but it hasn’t stopped me from seeing your name coupled with great reviews on Good Reads and Twitter, which has really piqued my interest! So this would be an absolutely wonderful giveaway to win for me to enter the world of your series. Keeping my fingers crossed 🙂 Rosie x

The Blackthorn series is one of my go to series to read and reread when fantasy and escapism are a necessity to get through the week. The character and world building in these books is a work of art – Lindsay has great writing ability of showing that emotions such as loneliness, betrayal, revenge and even love are no different for vampires, were wolves, serryns and angels than they are for humans.

I first read an extract of Blackthorn when Lindsay entered the Mills & Boon New Voices competition and I was so disappointed when I thought I wasn’t going to get to read anymore of this fantastic world and the story of Kane & Caitlin. Thankfully I was wrong and found out that Bookoture had published this great story through Facebook by an author friend – four books in and half way through the series I am still as hooked as I was that day I read the chapter where Kane had Caitlin handcuffed to a bed with seduction and soul robbery in mind! Kane & Caitlin are still my favourite couple in the series – the jury is still out on Caleb I’m afraid.

I am hooked because thanks to Lindsay she has written a series I can’t get enough of but also how great it is to be able to interact with author of a fav series you can’t stop recommending to anybody who will listen to you! I have to read it to see what unfolds, but also because the romantic in me wants a HEA for all of them but the realist in me is wondering what the heck is lurking in the shadows in this unpredictable series. I guess only time will tell – on that note can we have the release date of Blood Dark soon PLEASE! xx

Jade

I haven’t read any of the books but the storylines attract me to the book as it sounds like an interesting read.

Helen Allan

I haven’t read these books yet but I’ve enjoyed similar stories so they sound just my kind of thing. Thank you!

Michelle

There are some very hot vamps and a very yummy bad boy Eden. There’s even Jask if you like boys with a really bad bite. But the truth is there are thousands of books with hot vamps, wolves and bad boys.
Blackthorn has something different, something intangible. Lindsay’s world is gritty, harsh and at times feral but you’re drawn in. And now its like I cant get out now. No matter what I do. Its not Caitlin who’s captive and enthralled its me.
Lindsay both softens and stuns the way she has me in her grip by bring the sweetest nicest author to her fans. Even a crack pot like me, who she’s probably considering a restraining order against.
And of course the waiting for book 5 – you cannot imagine the hell.

Also i only have the books on my kindle, so i need these to stare out all day.

Alison

What attracted to me at the first? The promise of excellent writing in the paranormal field.

From then, the darkness and the light. Blackthorn is carefully balanced so that the impact of the love affairs between each set of protagonists is spliced with the very dark and gritty world in which each are set. There is no promise of forever, you can never take the characters for granted, as all may kill yet in this world – even when they love.

Brilliant.

Tina Ray

I was looking for something different when I come across bloodshadow, but what keeps me interest in them though they seem to not get along their gonna have to band together to get what they want.

Aleasia

I love the bad guy, who really isn’t a bad guy. They all have demons chasing them but they try to do what is right for everyone not just themselves. They have large responsibilities and they take them serious. The guys are all silent but deadly leaders that meets their life mates in the most unlikely places. Gentlemen under a rough exterior.

Emma Lomas

Due to me being a massive fan of vampire diaries, Supernatural, Sleep Hollow etc my friend has just gave me the first book I’ve only just started to read it this evening and I’m hooked already. I’ve just googled to find out if there was more books available to buy and came across this comp, I couldn’t resist to enter for the chance to read the other 3

Coriena Douglas

I’ve read all these books, just a fantastic series. Lindsay is a brilliant, imaginative writer who’s books gripped me from the start. I was lucky to be able to read the first three just in time for Blood Deeps release, so didn’t have to wait. I’m looking forward to Blood Dark and would love to read them all again before its release. Lindsay is able to make you fall in love with the characters of her books, there is something about a vampire falling in love with a human isn’t there! Blackthorn is a dark world where love develops and I can’t wait to find out if the vampires, wolves and humans come together in Blood Deep. I have these books on kindle, but would love the have “proper” copies signed by the lovely Lindsay. I’m such a fan…x

Hannah Whitling

Unfortunately I haven’t read any of the books yet, though they have been on my list to read when I got over a recent health problem. The storylines sound like they’re going to make a really interesting read and keep me gripped, which is what I love to have in a book.

Lydia Graham

I’ve only recently heard of the Blackthorn books (sorry), so haven’t read them yet. As a major fantasy book fan they seem like perfect additions to my overflowing shelves.

Lindsey Clarke

I discovered Blackthorn via Twitter, way back at the beginning and can honestly say that I haven’t found a PNR series that can beat it. Until that point, I was a true horror fiction fan and never imagined I would enjoy PNR as much as I did when Lindsay invited me into the gritty, dark world of Blackthorn. The characters were addictive, the storylines compelling and I found myself falling hopelessly in love with each book. Whenever anyone asks for a book recommendation, Blackthorn is always the first series I think about because I want others to love these books as much as I do. #TeamBlackthorn!

Suzanne Millan

What attracts me to Blackthorn?
Wow – what a question…it’s taken me a week to ponder.

Blackthorn first drew me into its spell late in the autumn of 2014. I needed an escape (who doesn’t?) and was new to the world of paranormal romance. I figured why go for normal everyday romance when you could have one with that thrill of paranormal added? So I started searching for PNR on Amazon. The excerpt of Blood Shadows jumped out and practically bit me and once I started reading…well, I couldn’t stop at just one….

Why?

Well, let’s begin with the characters….ladies first! The heroines are not cookie cutter gals…the each have their flaws, their mountains to climb, but as they overcome their obstacles (or work at it) each heroine grows and develops believably and realistically. Although each of the four heroines (Caitlin, Leila, Phia, and Jessie) are very different, they also share the same traits of intelligence, resilience, tenacity, self-reliance, passion, independence, strength of spirit, compassion, and empathy. Some more than others, but they are there. They all have admirable qualities that make you root for them (both for their personal journey as well as their romances)…which brings me to… The heroes…or should I say anti-heroes? Ah, each of the guys are, in short, delectable. Although mostly dark and flawed, each of the anti-heroes (Kane, Caleb, Jask, and Eden) is enigmatic, charming, clever, strong, confident and unapologetically sexy as hell. Although I seem to have been sucked in by the gravitational pull that Caleb exerts, with Lindsay’s brilliant writing, I can’t help but be attracted to each of them…and want their characters to come out on the winning side of both life and love. And the villains…oh…from Sirius to Feinith to Pummel, they are the the kind you can’t wait for to get their comeuppance!

The world of Blackthorn is another aspect that drew me into the stories. The world-building is fantastic. Every scene serves to draw a picture of a stratified society…laced with oppression, segregation, and prejudice. The glaring differences between the environments, lifestyles, career choices, not to mention food, medical treatments, and education for residents of Summerton, Midtown, Lowtown, and Blackthorn are heart-wrenching and make you feel the injustice of the situation. And the justifications by those in power for maintaining such a stratification really make me think about current society…and how prejudices and judgments can be perpetuated by those wanting to maintain power (or those looking to take over power), instead of looking for ways to make a better world and society for all beings to enjoy. So, these books are not just a typical PNR…the message behind the stories is profound and I love it.

Speaking of love…let me get to the romance! Oh…wow…. Amidst the backdrop of the darkness, despair, and injustice of Blackthorn and the possibility of positive change for its future, each story has its own incredible adventure and heart-pounding romance and is intertwined beautifully with the others. Whether a reader likes Vampires, Lycans, Witches, Angels, or humans with gifts…there is a romance for everyone (though I seem to be drawn to those enigmatically charming vamps Caleb and Kane…hee hee). Each story is fast-paced and intense. They are page-turners and I love the fact that the characters’ romances are not flat-out givens…they are not easy…they develop as the characters get to know and understand each other…to trust each other…to get past their own prejudices and pre-conceptions and traumas of the past to have compassion and understanding of each other…and love. The romance and sex scenes are steamy, sensual, and perfect for each character. Mmm.

I’m glad I have the e-books (though I’d love to own real copies)…I have read and re-read these stories so many times since first coming upon them. They have made quite an impression on me. Lindsay is an incredibly talented writer and has developed a world with characters that are a wonderful escape and it’s such a pleasure to know there are more to come! If I had the real books, I think I’ll have likely worn out the pages of all of them by now (some more than others…hee hee)!

I have fallen into the world of Blackthorn and I’m in bliss. My advice for anyone new to Blackthorn: Grab a fan before you start reading because you’ll need it…

PS – I’m in AZ, in the states…so I think I’m still getting this in just before midnight UK time…it’s close….*crosses fingers*

Natasha

I just read Blood Roses and loved it. I’ve Blood Shadows sitting in iBooks ready for the kids to go to bed. I was drawn because each book feature a different couple. I love series where they story continues but introduces a new couple 🙂 thank you for the chance 🙂
