*UPDATE*

MORE NEWS TO FOLLOW SUMMER 2023

I can’t tell you how much I’ve been looking forward to sharing this update with you. To all my readers who have messaged and emailed to check in (or have been quietly waiting on the side-lines) these past few months, thank you for your patience.

I’m thrilled to be able to tell you that all the structural edits for my upcoming book are now complete. Aside from writing the first draft, this is the most time-consuming (and unpredictable!) chunk of work my end which is why I’ve been immersed in my writing cave up to now. There’s still a little way to go yet with line edits, copy edits and proof reads ahead, but at least the significant delay due to Covid is now a distant memory and we’re well on our way.

The fantastic team at Piatkus Fiction will now be drafting a schedule to take us through the forthcoming months in the build-up to the book’s publication. Not only does this mean I’ll finally be able to share the release date, the team will also be finalising a title and designing the cover in the interim. This will be my first book outside of my Blackthorn and Lowtown worlds so I have no idea what to expect on either front. I’m beyond excited to see what they come up with! And I certainly can’t wait to see what you think too.

And for those of you who are clinging on for your next Lowtown adventure, rest assured I am working on Rogue between edits.

I’ll share more as soon as I can! Thanks for hanging in there with me. 🤗 ❤️

Aww, that is so wonderful to hear – thank you! 💓 This new story is quite different from Blackthorn and Lowtown but I really hope you’ll enjoy it. I’m just thrilled you’re going to take a look. As for the new Lowtown… if you loved Blackthorn and Haven, I think you’ll like this one too. 😉 I’ve had SO much fun with it. Take care – and thanks so much for reading and commenting!

Oh, Lindsay, this is wonderful and very welcome news! I checked the blog week before last and here is the update! Can’t wait for Rogue as it will be a chance to return to the world of Lowtown/Blackthorn. Can you say if the events in the book take place prior to Blood Broken or has it changed now.
I am so excited to read a book with a new direction and intrigued to discover how you have set up the world in which the story takes place and, of course, learn about the new characters. It can only be superbly written as ever.💜 Can you say if it will be a stand alone or a new series. Questions, questions! So lovely to connect with you again.🌞
All my best 🌻

Lindsay J. Pryor

Hi Marie! I love how excited you are – thank you!! And don’t worry, questions are always welcome. 😁

Rogue is still set prior to Blood Broken. Any Lowtown books I write will always be based prior to Blackthorn’s finale, basically because the world changes so much after that. The urban dystopia is so integral to the characterisation and plotting in Lowtown stories it would be hard to lose that element. And like Haven, Rogue will be a standalone focusing on two new characters.

As for my upcoming book (thank you for your confidence in it! ❤️), that’s a standalone too. It’s set against a rural backdrop, is Gothic in premise and is filled with mystery and spooky occurrences. 👻😱 I won’t say too much more about it for now but will share more asap. 😉 Like Blackthorn, it was tucked away for a very long time so I’m ecstatic it’s now on the cusp of being published. I’m sure we’ll have lots of fun with it.

Thanks so much for your support and it’s fantastic to connect with you again too. Take good care. 🤗

With so much going on right now I’m sure it was crazy trying to pull all the pieces together, I know it will be fantastic though if it comes from that wonderful mind of yours. Can’t wait for Rogue also because you know I adore that special place, but no pressure 🙈🙈🤣🤣.
